On June 1, 2025, in Boulder, Colorado, United States, Mohamed Sabry Soliman, an Egyptian man living in Colorado, allegedly used a makeshift flamethrower and Molotov cocktails to attack a group of people taking part in a walk to raise awareness for the hostages taken from Israel by Hamas during the October 7 attacks.[1][2]

The attack left thirteen people injured, including the suspect. Soliman yelled "Free Palestine" and said antisemitism was the reason for his attack.[3]

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) treated the attack as a targeted terror attack, and he was charged with a federal hate crime and other related state charges.[4]

U.S. President Donald Trump announced in a post on Truth Social after the attack that Soliman would be deported under his Administration.[5] Attorney General Pam Bondi said that the U.S. Department of Justice would hold the alleged attacker "accountable to the fullest extent of the law."[6]
