Hi! My name is Chlod (/klɒd/ⓘ; Tagalog: [klɔd]ⓘ). I write software for editors and users of the Wikimedia community.
I became active on Wikipedia starting October 2019. My interests lie in copyright, article writing, and software building. I've made a few editor user scripts, and those can be found on User:Chlod/Scripts, and I've made a few tools that interact with Wikipedia, or are made for Wikipedia, and they can be found at User:Chlod/Tools. I'm also currently the project lead for RedWarn and Ultraviolet, both counter-vandalism tools for patrollers, and Deputy, a tool for processing contributor copyright investigations. Nowadays, I mostly work on MediaWiki—the underlying software that powers MediaWiki, Fandom, Miraheze, and a lot of other wikis on the internet—as well as tools for other developers in the Wikimedia movement. If you'd like to have a chat, you can reach out to me on the Wikimedia Discord server as chlod, or on my talk page. I use IRC as chlod (with host mask chlod@wikimedia/chlod) on Libera and, though I'm not as active on there, I do receive all direct messages and pings. For matters that may be personal or private, you can talk to me through Discord or you can send me an email through Special:EmailUser. Please prefer public spaces for questions and avoid saying just "hello". I'm always open to improvement on my editing skills or behavior.
This user operates Zoomiebot, an automated bot that performs repetitive automated or semi-automated edits that would be extremely tedious to do manually. Additional tools and tasks may be seen on its userpage.
I have an alternate account used for testing: User:Chlod (test), and I control User:RedWarn and User:10nm for automated userscript updates. I also have a bot account used for automated edits: User:Zoomiebot. I work with the Wikimedia Foundation in translation; edits made with compensation are made under User:Chlod (OCTG). Other than those accounts, I operate no other accounts on Wikipedia and I never edit on an IP address intentionally.
I occasionally help with contributor copyright investigation cases, particularly the WikiProject Tropical cyclones case. I enforce copyright in WikiProject Tropical cyclones and help spot and correct copyright problems on the project. I also maintain Deputy, a copyright cleanup userscript.
