Please add reliable sources to this unsourced BLP. We are being criticized for both having unsourced BLPs and being anti-Israel. Please help us out of this Catch-22. Bearian (talk) 15:15, 9 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Requesting Hebrew transcribing/translation for Israel Defense Forces

[edit]

The tenth (10th) listed source for this article is a bare PDF, but a Hebrew speaker is needed to properly format it. Figured I'd reach out here first as it's top-importance. Thanks! BrotherGunk (talk) 14:29, 19 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Here's another stadium in Israel to source. There are other languages' articles from which information and sources can be translated. Bearian (talk) 10:08, 29 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Please add reliable sources to this article. Another sourcing drive will occur in November, so this is likely to get some scrutiny then. Bearian (talk) 02:35, 4 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Here's another unsourced article to add sources. Bearian (talk) 02:47, 4 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I've been pressured into re-prodding this, but will attempt to add at least one reliable source. Please help! Bearian (talk) 21:05, 4 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I added one reference and three external links, but it could be nominated for deletion as not having three good references. Bearian (talk) 21:17, 4 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Please add reliable sources to these lists. Bearian (talk) 02:02, 6 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Maccabi sports teams

[edit]

Maccabi Nahalat Yitzhak Tel Aviv and Maccabi Netanya (beach soccer) have been tagged as unsourced for 6 years. In the upcoming unreferenced articles drive, it is likely that these articles will be scrutinized, and perhaps by unfriendly users. Please add reliable sources. Two villages

[edit]

Please help source these stubs for two villages:

  1. Netiv HaAsara, Sinai, which was given to Egypt, and
  2. Neve Hadassah.

Bearian (talk) 14:53, 9 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I've provded sources for Netiv HaAsara and slightly expanded the article. A brief search didn't yield any secondary sources on Neve Hadassah but there probably are at least a few Totalstgamer (talk) 17:10, 11 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Now that we are hopefully back to a less violent phase of the Gaza–Israel conflict, and the public debate is moving to what type of control Israel will continue to have over Gaza, we should tidy up our articles around the history of the different elements of control. The table below, editable at Template:Gaza occupation and blockade history, is intended to do that. Once complete and fully sourced, the table can be added to Blockade of the Gaza Strip, Gaza Strip#History and Gaza–Israel conflict. Currently none of our articles are explaining the full story of these different elements, so it will require some new sourcing.

Type of Israeli Control 1956–1957, 1967–1993 1994–2000 2000–2005 2005–2006 2007–2023 2023–2025
Direct Military Occupation Oslo Period Second Intifada & Closures Disengagement and Fatah–Hamas conflict Full Blockade Gaza war and Gaza genocide
Internal control Palestinian areas Full Israeli military and civil control inside Gaza’s towns and refugee camps Partial Palestinian Authority control; Israeli army still active Frequent Israeli incursions and curfews Assassinations and military incursions Military incursions, e.g. 2008–2009, 2012, 2014, 2018–2019, 2021 Ground and military control zones
Israeli settlements Full control of Israeli settlements (see Gush Katif): military outposts from 1970, and residential settlements from 1978 onwards None
Land borders Gaza–Israel Permits system. Gaza–Israel barrier constructed in 1971. Beginning of closures and a permit system; Erez crossing tightly managed Severe closures and movement restrictions; periodic full shutdowns Controlled crossings; not a full blockade Full Israeli land blockade — controlled crossings, limited permits, restricted goods Complete closure; no goods, people, or aid allowed
Egypt–Gaza Direct Israeli-control at the border Egyptian-control of Philadelphi Corridor established, subject to Israeli monitoring Full or partial Egyptian closure, depending on political conditions Complete closure for extended periods; limited, intermittent aid via Rafah
Other borders Maritime border Full naval blockade; fishing zone tightly limited Complete naval closure
Airspace Total Israeli airspace control. Gaza Airport operated 1998-2001, under Israeli security checks.
Other services Public utilities (fuel, water, electricity) Israel controlled Shared control, with increasing restrictions Strong restrictions Continued control Chronic restrictions on fuel, water, electricity Total cutoff of water, fuel, electricity; near-total collapse
Telecommunications Fully controlled by Israel Disabled or restricted
Population registry Fully controlled by Israel

39th World Zionist Congress translation request

[edit]

Could someone please help translate the column headers in this chart of election results to the World Zionist Congress?[1] I'm trying to duplicate the table for 39th World Zionist Congress. Thanks. Wellington Bay (talk) 14:56, 24 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Google translate's pdf translation (on the website/app) tends to work well with hebrew. If it's failed you i'd be happy to help Totalstgamer (talk) 15:48, 25 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

What is the difference between those categories??

[edit]

What is the difference between these categories? For example, Israeli people of Lithuanian descent and Israeli people of Lithuanian-Jewish descent and so on. And if it’s about practicing the religion, how do editors verify such a thing? Most of the people in categories like Israeli people of Lithuanian-Jewish descent aren’t verified to actually practice it. And if it’s just about ethnicity, then isn’t it redundant? It feels that way Lililolol (talk) 20:45, 26 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Lililolol, considering that the latter is a child of the former and the other child is Lithuanian emigrants to Israel, *possibly* the idea was to distinguish those who emigrated from Lithuania and their descendants who were born in Israel. I'm not sure such a category is necessary or helpful to the reader. Alaexis¿question? 12:48, 27 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Sentence in Gaza War

[edit]

I'd like to request additional opinions for Talk:Gaza war#Genocide. It's a discussion about if one of the lead paragraphs have strange wording. I'm pretty biased on this topic, so more voices would be helpful. Thanks in advance. monkeysmashingkeyboards (talk) 16:37, 27 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
