Francesco Corrado Frasca was born in 1955 in Treviso, Veneto (Italy). «Ex antiquissima stirpe nortmannica oriundus».

He graduated from the Faculty of Political Science at the University of Padua (Major in Economics), after which he moved to France to pursue postgraduate studies. He holds a Master's degree in social history, a PhD in sociology from EHESS-Paris, and a PhD in modern history from the University of Paris IV-Sorbonne. He taught Military and Naval History at the La Sapienza University of Rome and conducted seminars at the Universities of Paris IV, Paris I and Malta. In 2011, he was regularly appointed as a non-external examiner for the M.A. in Hospitaller Studies Dissertations in the Department of History at the Faculty of Arts, University of Malta. His current research interests include Military History, Naval and Maritime History, Military architecture, fortification and fieldwork in Early modern Europe. Author of seven published books and seventy research papers, he has also been associated with academic and research institutes: Commission Française d'Histoire Militaire (CFHM), Société Française d'Histoire Maritime (SFHM), International Intelligence History Association (IIHA) and the International Heraldry Society.

As a former military policy analyst and research fellow at the Military Centre for Strategic Studies (CeMiSS) in Rome, he conducts rigorous research on defence strategy, security policy, and geo-economics, providing actionable insights to policymakers. His role as a lecturer at the Maritime War Institute (IGM) in Leghorn refines his ability to communicate complex strategic concepts effectively, a critical skill for CeMiSS analytical and evaluative work.

In 2022, he further hones his expertise by completing the 85th Economic Intelligence Course at the Institut des Hautes Études de Défense Nationale (IHEDN) in Paris, focusing on influence strategies, lobbying, and economic warfare. This intensive programme enhances his understanding of influence and counter-influence in globalised contexts, corporate lobbying practices, public affairs, and negotiation techniques, equipping him to navigate the intricate dynamics of policy and stakeholder engagement. As Founder and Managing Partner of Global Intelligence International, he leads a research organisation dedicated to the aerospace, defence, and security sectors. Registered in the EU Transparency Register, it provides policymakers, industry professionals, and the public with reliable, data-driven analyses to raise awareness of Europe’s defence ecosystem.
