Usage

The infobox may be added by pasting the template as shown below into an article and then filling in the desired fields. Any parameters left blank or omitted will not be displayed. All parameters are explained below.

Parameters

Any parameters left blank or omitted will not be displayed.

Parameter	Explanation
|Expansion Name=	To appear at the top of the infobox and will be used to display the set position in the Block Name or Arc.
|Expansion Symbol=	Image name: abc.jpg, xpz.png, 123.gif, etc., without the File: or Image: prefix. Set symbols are fair use, they must be low-resolution and only used on the page the set symbol is for. See WP:FAIRUSE for more information.
|Symbol Description=	A basic description of the set symbol
|Release Date=	Use the official release date, not the pre-release date. Month–day–year (MDY) format—e.g., November 8, 2025 is preferred.
|Size=	The total number of cards in the base set or base set and commander set.
|Print run=	Total number of cards printed for the set, if known.
|Keywords= and |Mechanics=	List any new keywords and mechanics that are introduced with the set. Check the official rules for a full list of what counts as keywords.
|Designers=	Designers that are listed by Wizards of the Coast for the set, it is possible for a designer to also be a developer. Wikilink to the persons page if it is available.
|Developers=	Developers that are listed by Wizards of the Coast for the set, it is possible for a developer to also be a designer. Wikilink to the persons page if it is available.
|Development Code=	The code name that Wizards of the Coast uses during development of the set. From Thrones of Eldraine forward WOTC switched to using an A-Z themed naming pattern. For example: Innistrad: Midnight Hunt used "Golf" , Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty used "Hockey", and Streets of New Capenna used "Ice Skating"
|Expansion Code=	Typically three capital letters i.e., Bloomburrow is BLB. This code can always be found on the bottom left corner of cards.
|Comcode=	Similar to the |Expansion Code=, this code is used specifically for cards found in the Commander pre-constructed decks.
|ComSymbol Description=	Similar to |Symbol Description=, this is a description of the Commander set symbol. I.e., Bloomburrow commander set symbol is a "Stylized flower in the shape of a shield."
|Universes=	Use either "Within" or "Beyond", this parameter is not necessary for sets that were printed before 2020. "Within" is for sets that take place in the Magic: The Gathering universe and "Beyond" is for sets that belong to other IPs.
|Last Set=	The previously released expansion set. Wikilink to article is preferred.
|Next Set=	The next released expansion set. Wikilink to article is preferred.
|Block Name=	The name of the Block. Blocks were discontinued in 2018 with Ixalan. Expansions prior to and including 2018 should include block information.
|Arc=	The name of the story Arc. The Bolas story arc is the first and overlaps with the ending of the use of blocks. Expansions after 2018 should include arc information.
|Set Position=	The position of the set in the Block or Arc. If there are three sets within a Block or Arc, the infobox will automatically populate with the position as long as the other set information is included. If there are more than three sets, use this parameter to express the position. I.e., First, Second, Third, etc.
|First Set=, |Second Set=, and |Third Set=	These parameters should only be used with sets that are in the Block format. If using these parameters, the |Set Position= should not be used.
|Last Block= or |Last Arc=	Use one or the other, typically never both.
|Next Block= or |Next Arc=	Use one or the other, typically never both.
