Should the games list be added for Xbox Game Pass Core?
[edit]As GPC has a growing catalogue of games, with 3 being added recently, should we keep track of them as a list? ThatOneWheatleyGuy (talk) 15:52, 25 April 2024 (UTC)

Xbox network → Xbox Live – the service is still commonly and overwhelmingly referred to as Xbox Live 64.193.85.10 (talk) 00:04, 9 October 2025 (UTC) This is a contested technical request (permalink). - Oppose A quick search shows very few sources in the last several years using "Xbox Live". It may be more informally called that way within online communities, but the term is no long used with sufficient frequency to rename it like that. Masem (t) 13:23, 12 October 2025 (UTC)
- Oppose I can find no evidence that more sources still use Xbox live. GothicGolem29 (talk) 15:38, 13 October 2025 (UTC)
- I don't think going back to the old name is appropriate given the changes since the introduction in 2002. However, I think debating the current name is fine. I am not sure if the "network" part should be literally for the title; Personally I would suggest "Xbox (service)". IgelRM (talk) 02:32, 14 October 2025 (UTC)
- Curiously, Variety quotes an official tweet using the Xbox Live name in June 2024? IgelRM (talk) 02:40, 14 October 2025 (UTC)
- Support For reasons other than the nom; I think Xbox Live is independently notable and this article should be about the defunct XBL service. Post-2021 Xbox Network should be split off into its own article, a la Square (video game company) and Square Enix. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 20:08, 15 October 2025 (UTC)
- It's the same service, it's not defunct. See [1]. Masem (t) 20:31, 15 October 2025 (UTC)
- Maybe "defunct" was not the right word, but the service under the name Xbox Live has its own history. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 23:14, 15 October 2025 (UTC)
- I don't think just the post-2021 part would be independently notable, so that would then be a merge/redirect somewhere. IgelRM (talk) 12:02, 16 October 2025 (UTC)
- Xbox#Xbox network then? I do think I would prefer moving it back to Xbox Live, making it a PURELY historical article about a legacy service, and putting new discussion about the Xbox network at the aforementioned location. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 05:53, 28 October 2025 (UTC)
- Again, there's nothing "legacy" about it. The core functionality of Xbox Live still exists, its just not called that. Only recently have there been rumors that the next Xbox will ditch some of that functionality (subscription to play multiplayer), but we're not there yet. It makes no sense to split that information up just to make the page title look right. Masem (t) 12:53, 28 October 2025 (UTC)
