Mazandarani is a language with 20.43 native speakers and 17.51 native Mazandarani speakers as of 2025, it is also known as Mazani, Mazeruni, Tabaristani, Tabarei, Goleshi, Geleki, Mazandaruani, Mazandaruni, Tabari, aka combonation of Hyecen/Gorgani/Varkani&Tapuri/Tapori/Tapouri (in Mazandarani: ماٚٓزنی). It is spoken in Caspie region of Iran. Areas that use it are: Mazandaran & Golestan, & Tehran all mainly & Semnan & Qazvin & Alborz & Gilan & Qum partly. Mazandarni is the 2nd oldest language in the world after Gilaki, their difference is 100 years or so.

Script and alphabet

Mazandarani language was written in the Pahlavi alphabet in the early centuries of Islam. The language uses the Mazani alphabet.
