Emb Hashmi is a British journalist, broadcaster, storyteller, and entrepreneur known for her work with the BBC and for founding Storytelling for CEOs, an education platform focused on leadership communication.
Career
[edit]Hashmi has worked as a journalist and news presenter with the BBC, contributing to programmes such as Business Daily on the BBC World Service and BBC regional news.[1] She has also presented, produced, and moderated for various media and leadership events, and is active in public speaking and storytelling training.[2]

[edit]Hashmi was profiled in HELLO! Magazine, in an independent interview that explored her life and career.[3] She was also featured as one of the nominees in the magazine’s 2021 #HelloToKindness Inspiration Awards campaign.[4]
Awards and recognition
[edit]In 2025, Hashmi won the Ibn Battūta Award for Excellence in the Media at the The Muslim News Awards for Excellence, recognising her contribution to journalism and public engagement.[5] She was also named the winner of the Achievement in Media category at the Asian Achievers Awards 2025.[6] Her nominations and shortlistings have been reported by several independent media outlets, including DESIblitz,[7] Asian Voice,[8] and the official event website.[9]
Other activities
[edit]Hashmi is the founder of Storytelling for CEOs, a platform that provides leadership communication and narrative training for executives and entrepreneurs.[10] She is also active in mentoring women in media and entrepreneurship through accelerator programmes and university partnerships.
