Holy Archangel Michael and All Angels Skete in Weatherby, Missouri are a collaborative monastic institution belonging to the Serbian Orthodox Church in the United States of America. Hieromonk Alexii Altschul is the Igumen in charge of the entire property, including the three separate monasteries. Sharing the property are two other Serbian monasteries -- Protection of the Virgin Mary Monastery and St. Xenia Sisterhood.[1]
All three monasteries are under the omophor of His Grace Bishop Longin (Krčo) of the Serbian Orthodox Eparchy of New Gračanica and Midwestern America.
Visitors at Weatherby Lake's Holy Archangel Michael & All Angels Skete are offered a variety of meditative, contemplative, and hiking activities through designated trails, with churches scattered amid 80 acres of agricultural land. During the hike, one will notice various species of flora and fauna, oysters, morel, and mushrooms. This special activity is offered through a collaborative effort between All Angels Skete and Holy Archangel Michael. There is a vineyard where one can observe a beehive. Worship service is every day at a specified hour. Holy Archangel Michael, All Angels Skete, Protection of the Virgin Mary, and St. Xenia Sisterhood also host events like Women’s Retreat, Bright Week, Lazarus Saturday, and Snowy Palm Sunday on their respective campuses every year.[2]
In 2022, a fire that gutted a chapel and main building at the monastery[3] has since been rebuilt.
