The Cambodia Elephant Trail (Khmer: ព្រិត្តិការណ៍រត់ប្រណាំងផ្លូវភ្នំ) is an annual trail-running event held in Kirirom National Park, Cambodia. Organized by KK Running Club (KKRC) and hosted at vKirirom Pine Resort, the race spans multiple distance categories and is designed to promote ecotourism and appreciation for Cambodia’s natural landscapes.

2019 – Inaugural Event

  • The first Cambodia Elephant Trail took place on 7 July 2019 at Kirirom National Park. It marked the debut of the trail-running competition in the region, though detailed participant numbers or structure are not publicly documented.

2022 – Event Revival

  • After a hiatus during the COVID-19 pandemic, the trail run resumed in early July 2022.
  • The 2nd edition attracted over 200 national and international runners from 15 countries.
  • Two race categories were held: a 12 km run (with 39 women and 77 men registered) and a 32 km race (with 11 women and 63 men registered).
  • The event was supported by the Cambodian Athletic Volunteer Federation, vKirirom Pine Resort, and sponsored by FWD Insurance, among others. (Cambodia Expats Online)

2023 – Expansion and Growing Popularity

  • On 2 July 2023, KKRC hosted the 3rd edition of the Cambodia Elephant Trail.
  • Participation doubled compared to the previous year, with 438 runners from 26 countries.
  • The race expanded to include five distances: 3 km, 10 km, 32 km, 42 km, and 70 km, offering a range of challenge levels for both novice and experienced runners. (Cambodia Expats Online)

2024 – Fourth Edition & Eco-Friendly Innovations

  • The 4th annual event took place on 11 August 2024, at vKirirom Pine Resort, Kirirom National Park, Kampong Speu Province.
  • Four categories were offered: 5 km, 12 km, 25 km, and 50 km.
